Chapter 01 — the itch

It started over chai and a bad bottle of pepper.

Three friends, three laptops, one frustrating question: why is good spice so hard to find at a fair price?

Supermarkets sold dust. Premium brands sold marketing. The real stuff was hiding in small farms we'd never heard of.

So we booked tickets, packed notebooks, and went looking.

From vine to jar

Same pepper, picked at different moments in its life. Most bottles you've held came from the wrong one. This is what changed our minds — a handful, still warm from the vine.
